2023-2024 Ravensworth PDO School Calendar

We follow the same emergency closings and delays as Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS).

Please look over dates carefully and keep for reference

PDO WILL HAVE 1 HOUR EARLY RELEASE ON FCPS EARLY RELEASE DAYS (JAN 25)

August 30th – Open House, 1 adult per child during time slot as follows: 

Kiwis Class 9:30 am-10:00 am 

Wallabies Class 10:30-11:00 am

Koalas Class 11:30 am-12:00 pm

Dolphins Class 12:30 pm -1:00pm 

September 5th – First Day of classes for all of PDO

September 9th – Yard Day, Volunteers needed.

September 14th – Back to school Night, Parents Only

September 25th – PDO/FCPS Holiday (Teacher Workday)

October 9th – PDO/FCPS Student Holiday (Columbus Day)

October 26th – School Pictures (1 Parent Volunteer needed)

October 31st – Halloween Parade & Parent Social

November 6th – 7th – PDO/FCPS Closed (Election Day)

November 13th – Dolphins Parent Teacher Conferences (Regular school day for 4-day classes)

November 14th – Koalas Parent Teacher Conferences (Regular school day for 4-day classes

November 15th – Thanksgiving Luncheon for Students Only (2 Parent Volunteers needed in each class)  

November 22nd-23rd – PDO/FCPS Closed for Thanksgiving

December 18th – January 1st – Closed for Winter Break (classes resume January 2nd)

January 15th – PDO/FCPS Closed (MLK Holiday)

January 16th – In-house Registration starts for 2024-2025
January 29th – Public Registration starts for 2024-2025

February 19th – PDO/FCPS Closed (Presidents’ Day)

March 7th – Kindergarten Readiness Workshop

March 11th – Parent Teacher conferences for Wallabies. This is a regular school day for 4-day classes.

March 12th – Parent Teacher conferences for Kiwis. This is a regular school day for 3 and 4-day classes.

March 18th – Parent Teacher conferences for Dolphins. This is a regular school day for 4-day classes. 

March 19th – Parent Teacher conference for Koalas.  This is a regular school day for 4-day classes.

March 25th – April 2nd –PDO/FCPS Spring Break (Classes Resume April 3rd)

April 10th – PDO / FCPS Closed

May 2nd – FUN FAIR ~ No school                  
Parent Attendance Required (Rain Date May 9th) 

May 22nd – Last day of school.

May 23rd – End of Year Program (Times TBD)

May 27th – PDO/FCPS Closed (Memorial Day)

May 28th – Start of 2-week Summer Camp
                        1st week Tuesday, May 28th – Friday, May 31st,  2nd week Monday, June 3rd – Thursday, June 6th 

Please note: Some of our closings may NOT coincide with Fairfax County Public Schools.
